At SteerX, we believe that the intersection of engineering and medicine holds the key to transformative healthcare solutions. That belief was reaffirmed during our participation as jury members at a Medical Devices Innovation Challenge hosted by BETIC at IIT Bombay.

The event brought together 14 finalist teams, comprising 57 innovators from diverse disciplines—engineering, medicine, design, and management—all working on real-world problems posed by clinicians.

What stood out:

  1. Every team tackled clinically relevant, real-world challenges, bringing solutions closer to patient care.

  2. The interdisciplinary collaboration fostered novel perspectives, critical for developing scalable innovations.

  3. Startups were mentored by industry experts from both the healthcare and engineering sectors, ensuring their ideas remained practical and impact-driven.

As we navigate the future of healthtech, such initiatives are laying the groundwork for an ecosystem that’s not just innovative, but also collaborative and solution-oriented. We were inspired by the talent and commitment of these young innovators and look forward to their continued journey in transforming care.
